I am starting a new series called Brevia Italica, which is Latin for Snippets of Italy, or Italian Briefs. While I have written about some magnificent churches and my favorite things to see in Florence, is so much more to see in Italy beyond my go-to favorites, such as Michelangelo's David and St. Peter's. This series will allow me to provide you with a snapshot of a specific site or image in Italy. I will present these every day of the week, with the following themes:
Masterpiece Monday: A single work of art that is worth pausing for.
Ancient Tuesday: A view of ancient Rome.
Walkabout Wednesday: Sights to see while walking the city.
Curiosa Romana: Legends and curiosities off the beaten path.
Churches Friday: Sacred churches beyond the major sites.
Saints and Relics Saturday: Holy remains and their meanings.
Pilgrimage Sunday: An introduction to one of the seven great pilgrimage churches.
Each post will have a link to Google Maps and a brief poll after. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, and as always, feel free to share them in the comment box below each post.
I hope you enjoy this series!
